What is a typical foraging experience like?
The beauty of foraging is that every trip is different. However, this is what to expect from a typical foraging event with us:
Half-day tours
We meet in the morning and drive to our foraging location. Once there, we take a walk and discuss which local wild greens grow in the area. We then collect them and discuss how they can be prepared and eaten. An impromptu fresh snack is prepared at the end of the trip based on the greens we have collected. The pace of the trip is relaxed, allowing for time to interact or reflect individually while enjoying nature. We return in the early afternoon.

- Most trips have 4-8 participants. Groups are kept small to ensure that our impact on nature is minimal.
- Transport is provided, but participants can use their own vehicle if they wish.
- Accommodation and communal cooking are not included in half-day trips.
One-day tours
We meet in the morning and drive to our destination. Activities vary depending on the course content, but they usually involve spending time outdoors in Cretan nature, while learning how to use natural products to produce traditional Cretan goods. An early afternoon lunch break is usually followed by a relaxing stroll. We return in the early evening.

All -inclusive multi-day trips
Each morning, we meet after breakfast and drive to our destination. We then make 2-3 stops at different foraging locations. Before we collect the wild greens available in the area, we take a walk and discuss how they can be prepared and eaten. We also make a stop for a quick dip in the sea (location and weather permitting). In the evening, we return to our base for a communal dinner, cooking local recipes based on the foods we have foraged. The pace of the trip is relaxed, allowing for time to interact or reflect individually while enjoying nature.

- Most trips will include accommodation for 2-4 nights, depending on the length of the trip. To make the most of your trip, it is important we all stay at the same venue, which we will use as our base for cooking the local food resources we have foraged.
